Dr. Kai Engstad is a cardiothoracic surgeon practicing in Portland, Oregon. He has developed a relationship with the leaders of cardiac surgery in Myanmar and is passionate about assisting in the development of cardiac surgery in the country.
Prof. Tin Maung Aye is head of cardiac surgery training at the Defence Services Medical Academy and founder of the first private cardiac surgery program in Myanmar. He plays a pivotal role in training the future leaders of cardiac surgery in Myanmar as well as developing the infrastructure to provide the highest quality surgery for both adults and children
